Care for Nature. Care for Your Garment.

Every WorldWild piece is crafted from thoughtfully chosen natural fibers. With a little care, they'll soften beautifully, age gracefully, and accompany you for many seasons.

Quick Navigation

Linen

Washing

  • Preparation: Unfold items completely and fasten any buttons before washing. Do not overload your machine.
  • Detergent: Use a mild, eco-friendly liquid soap without added whiteners, optical brighteners, or chlorine bleach.
  • Avoid Softeners: Skip fabric softeners; they coat the fibers and actually reduce the linen's natural absorbency and softness over time.

Drying

  • Line Dry: Whenever possible, line dry flat or on a clothesline in the shade. It is the best method for the environment and maintains the integrity of the fibers.
  • Tumble Dry: If using a dryer, set it to medium heat and do not over-dry. Remove the linens while they are slightly damp to the touch to prevent deep, stubborn wrinkles.

Ironing & Storage

  • Damp Ironing: Linen is easiest to iron when slightly damp. Use a warm/hot steam iron on the reverse (inner) side of the fabric to prevent shine.
  • Storage: Store folded in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Avoid plastic bags, which can trap moisture; use breathable fabric or cotton storage bags instead.

Organic Cotton (and standard Cotton)

Washing

  • Preparation: Turn garments inside out to reduce surface friction and preserve color. Fasten buttons and zippers. Wash similar tones together. Avoid overloading the machine to allow gentle movement.
  • Detergent: Use a mild, eco-friendly liquid detergent. Avoid bleach, whitening agents, and harsh stain removers unless absolutely necessary and diluted.
  • Temperature: Cold to 30°C is ideal. Higher temperatures can cause shrinkage over time, even in pre-shrunk cotton.

Drying

  • Air Dry (Recommended): Hang or lay flat in shade to preserve fiber strength and prevent fading.
  • Tumble Dry: If needed, use low to medium heat. Remove slightly damp to minimize shrinkage and stiffness. Over-drying makes cotton more brittle and wrinkled.

Ironing & Storage

  • Ironing: Iron while slightly damp for best results. Use medium to high heat depending on fabric weight. Iron inside out to protect surface texture and color.
  • Storage: Store folded in a cool, dry space. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent fading. Breathable cotton storage is preferable over plastic.

ECOVERO LENZING™

Washing

Preparation: Turn inside out and wash with similar lightweight fabrics. Use a mesh laundry bag for extra protection.

Detergent: Use mild, eco-friendly detergent without bleach or fabric softeners. ECOVERO™ maintains softness naturally and doesn’t need chemical assistance.

Cycle: Gentle or hand wash in cold water. Lower spin speeds are preferred to protect fiber structure.

Drying

  • Air Dry Only: Hang or lay flat in shade. ECOVERO™ dries relatively quickly and performs best when air-dried naturally.
  • Avoid Heat: Do not tumble dry. High heat can weaken fibers and affect drape over time.

Ironing & Storage

Ironing: Low to medium heat, preferably with steam. Iron inside out to maintain the natural flow and softness of the fabric.

Storage: Store folded or hung in a breathable space. Avoid plastic covers to allow airflow and prevent moisture build-up.

Viscose

Washing

  • Preparation: Turn inside out and wash in a laundry bag for extra protection. Viscose is delicate when wet, so reduce friction as much as possible.
  • Detergent: Use a very mild, liquid detergent. Avoid enzymes, bleach, and strong chemicals.
  • Cycle: Always use a gentle/delicate cycle with cold water. Hand washing is even better when possible.

Drying

  • Never Tumble Dry: Heat can severely shrink and distort viscose fibers.
  • Air Dry: Lay flat on a towel or hang carefully on a padded hanger. Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent weakening and fading. Avoid wringing—press water out gently instead.

Ironing & Storage

  • Ironing: Iron inside out on low to medium heat while slightly damp. Steam works best for restoring shape without stress on fibers.
  • Storage: Hang or fold loosely. Avoid tight folding that can create permanent creases. Store in a dry, shaded space.

Mixed Fabrics (Blended Fibres)

Washing

  • Preparation: Turn garments inside out, fasten buttons and zippers, and wash with similar colours. Avoid overloading the washing machine to reduce friction.
  • Detergent: Use a mild, eco-friendly liquid detergent. Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, and optical brighteners, as they may damage one or more of the fibres in the blend.
  • Temperature: Wash in cold water or at 30°C using a gentle cycle. When caring for blended fabrics, it's best to follow the instructions for the most delicate fibre.

Drying

  • Air Dry (Recommended): Hang or lay flat to dry in the shade whenever possible. Air drying helps preserve the shape, colour, and longevity of blended fabrics.
  • Tumble Dry: If the care label permits, use low heat only. Remove the garment while slightly damp to help minimise shrinkage and wrinkles.

Ironing & Storage

  • Ironing: Use low to medium heat and iron the garment inside out. If you're unsure, begin with the lowest heat setting and increase only if needed.
  • Storage: Store folded or hung in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Allow garments to breathe by avoiding airtight plastic storage whenever possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why shouldn't I use fabric softener?

Most natural fibers become softer naturally over time. Fabric softeners leave a coating on the fibers that can reduce breathability, absorbency, and overall performance.

Why do natural fabrics wrinkle?

Wrinkles are a natural characteristic of plant-based fibers such as linen and cotton. They reflect the fabric's authentic texture and can usually be removed with steam or light ironing.

How often should I wash my garments?

Natural fibers don't always need washing after every wear. Spot cleaning, airing garments between wears, and washing only when needed helps preserve both the fabric and the environment.

Can I use bleach?

We recommend avoiding chlorine bleach and harsh whitening products, as they can weaken natural fibers and affect color over time.

What's the best detergent?

Choose a mild, biodegradable liquid detergent free from bleach, optical brighteners, and unnecessary additives. Gentle detergents help natural fibers last longer.

We believe the most sustainable garment is the one you continue to wear. Gentle care extends the life of every piece, reducing waste while allowing natural fibers to become softer and more beautiful with time.
